Seven times a day I praise you …
The following links will open below.
Matins/Office of Readings ● Now can be at Vigils, i.e., just before sunrise, or another time
Lauds*/Morning Prayer ● Sunrise‒8:30 am
Terce/DAYTIME: Midmorning Prayer ● 8:45‒10 am
Vespers*/Evening Prayer ● 4:30‒8pm
Compline*/Night Prayer ● Right before retiring
NOTES:
- Pope Benedict XVI recommended the laity pray at least those marked with an asterisk when they are able.
- Lauds and Vespers are the two hinges: consecrating the day to the Lord, and thanking Him at the end of the day.
- The times above are traditional and are a useful guide. Compline is prayed right before going to bed, even if that is after midnight.
